Week 78 - The Gospel Fills Us

Not to lie, I was in shock when I read today's letter.
a few days ago, I was thinking about when I was working with you and Rob at the shop when I was stocking the inventory on the second floor. I was thinking about how you two were always talking, and working together and how Uncle Rob was always there to cheer me up or touch my sides haha. He was a great uncle. I really feel weird about it... it's weird to think he's gone. I never really lost a  close family member.
Remember that our Lord Jesus Christ has suffered all things for us. He knows how we feel. He has gone thought these things.
Tell Aunt Lisa that I love her, and I'll pray for her, and the family.
I liked about what you said, about how the gospel helps us to deal with these pains. It gives us the responses to our questions and doubts.
Dad, I know it's hard. He was your brother, friend and helper in work. He is in a place where he can relax from his pains and afflictions for a little season. He`ll watch over us like Gloria, and my little sister.
Families are forever. There is no doubt about it.
...
This week, on Friday, we had a miracle. my companion and I were with Elder Montgomery because his comp finished the mission. So we were walking for a long time... the appointments fell though, and my companion said, '' vamos a contactar es hombre, no habĂamos contactado.``(let's go contact that man we haven't been able to meet.) so we went.. he wasn't there. So I looked both directions, and started walking left. My comp said `` donde vamos,``(where are we going) yo(me): por aqui, no se quien pero vamos.``(This way, I don't know who but let's go.)
Then all of a sudden a man walked out the door and yelled to us to come over. He asked us if we were Mormons, we said yes and he said ´´ tiene tiempo para hablar conmigo?``(Do you have time to talk to me?) long story short, he told us he had listened to  sister missionaries about 5 months back, and said ``cuando yo estoy con uds, yo siento gozo, me llenĂ©``(When I am with you guys, I feel joy, I am full.) He now has a baptism date and we are preparing him for his promise with God.
The gospel means good news.
The gospel of Jesus Christ means the good news of Jesus Christ.
The good news is that this gospel helps us. It fills us. It brings to us eternal life, the greatest gift we can have.
It's His gospel, that's why it fills us, because nothing else, worldly or physically, can fill us. Only Him.
I love you guys. I'm beginning to understand, I think more of His love for us and why it's important that we love Him back.
Send my regards to Lisa and her kids.
Love your son,
Dallin

Note from Dallin's dad:  It has been a hard few days for us here in St. George.  My older brother passed away on Thursday evening.  It was extremely difficult for me to write this weeks email to Dallin.  I was very worried about how Dallin would react to the news.  From this letter he sent it is clear that he is very close to the Spirit and I can't help but feel that his Uncle Rob had a hand in guiding him to his Miracle on Friday.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. How difficult it must be to lose someone so close! Dallin inspires me when I look at his blog. This particular post really touched my heart. What a good boy you have. So close to the Spirit and his Uncle. My prayers will be with your son and your family. -Elder Skinner's mom, Ivy
